John Weston Mosby - Extensive Service in the United States Air Force
John Weston Mosby served in the United States Air Force for nearly three decades. He held positions ranging from Aircraft Electrician to Chief of Aeromedical Flight Training Standards and Evaluations. His military service began in November 1974, when he voluntarily enlisted and started working with aircraft systems. John Weston “Wes” Mosby’s service ultimately culminated in his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel at the Operations Group level.
Throughout his Air Force career, Wes Mosby was involved in training, evaluation, and operational leadership. From August 1979 to May 1997, he served as an Aeromedical Evacuation Flight Instructor and Examiner. In this capacity, he helped oversee flight training and evaluation activities that supported mission readiness and operational standards.
Wes Mosby also pursued educational advancement during his military career. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Redlands in 1983, and later completed Air Command and Staff studies focused on air operations during war in 1997. His military service earned him numerous honors, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and the War on Terrorism Service Medal.
